Can we imagine animals using the technology for talking to humans, same question asked to Melody Jackson who is a computer scientist at Georgia Tech and working on designing a new innovative technology which removes communication gap between animals and Humans. To clarify one thing before to further proceed, such information technology is being designed for not home pets but like animals owned by security agencies. For Instance, police dogs would be able communicating about how to best find the criminals following his footsteps or while being engaged in rescuing mission.
Jackson believes that information technology can be designed for police dogs which help us overcoming the crime in society. Melody Jackson claims that she has built special computerized vests for police dogs. They can be used as an alternative of the human being who pulls mechanical lever for triggering out the audio message that: My Handler is looking for you and need the help.
Service dogs are already contributing a lot in preventing the crime before it happens. They perform the several complicated tasks including identifying explosives in large area and also guiding deaf people to follow the direction of sound where it is coming from, but still dogs are not able to fully communicate their knowledge. For Instance, bomb-sniffing dogs can only communicate about whether or not explosives are present under the land, but they cannot communicate about different types and intensity amount of explosives. It will help the security officers to disposed-off the bomb having higher danger level and which can cause catastrophic loss.
Meanwhile, scientists are also working on nature of technology which uses for detecting those police dogs catching the cancer because such dogs starts losing its sniff power and do not remain highly efficient. People owns pet dogs at home do not need be losing heart as relevant technology is also being development for them as scientists are also working on dogs friendly light switches. Owner can ask their pet dogs to switch on / off the lights.
