What YouTube Go Offers?
YouTube Go app is all about facilitating the user watch offline videos and share them on the social circle. App is designed for the ease of users in saving and sharing videos which ultimately increases the user base of YouTube. It is a very compact app in size and only captures 8.5MB on storage. It also lets you saving YouTube videos as per own choice of video quality, along with mention the size of file on each quality and storage left.
The app also contains the option of sharing videos offline via Bluetooth, also helps you finding your friends using same app by verifying your phone number. Once we know that what YouTube Go is all about, let get to know about how it works.
How YouTube Go Works?
“ YouTube Go ” app has been released in “beta testing” version which is quite stable as the all other regular apps, but also verified version should be released soon. You can get the app downloaded on mobile from Play Store, if yet not arrived in your country then APKMirror is the second best option.
After installing the app and before finally launch it on the mobile, asks you to select the language. You can select your native language and then proceed. Moving forward, you can see the various slides showing you the different features available in the app.
While proceeding, the app will ask you enter your mobile number, then you also need to add the personal Google account for using YouTube Go on the phone, It is the same process a user go through before finally using the YouTube on laptop. Once your account is verified, take you on the home page of the app.
You can see two tabs on its homepage: Home and Saved, each has its own features. In the Home tab, you can get access to 20 videos, while scrolling up from the bottom of the window, there is a “Show More” button at the top to get new videos.
When you tab on a YouTube video, it lets you see the preview of the video and also comes with video saving option at Basic (240p) or Standard (360p) video quality. You can also stream the videos and watch them online. Video streaming is only available on 240p and 360p and not in HD. It needs to tab on “Save” button to download the video, all these videos shows in Saved tab.
Comparing the play page of this app with the full-fledged regular YouTube app, here the options are quite limited and which is also understandable. This app is designed to serve the purpose of watching offline videos and also share them. User cannot read comments, like/dislike the video and not even change the video quality. You can neither subscribe the new channel nor get accessed on subscribed channels. Inability of reading comments is a big disappointment; sometimes I enjoy reading comments more than watching the video.
Now go to the Saved tab, here you can find two options in the name of “Share” and “Receive”. A sender needs to hit on Share button and the receiver will hit on Receive button. Then, both devices will be started scanning and on the completion transfers the video over Bluetooth.
You may counter bugs on the app, It is expected because currently available on beta phase. I went through the trouble in experiencing its sharing feature. Overall, the app is amazing especially for the users having limited data bandwidth which prevents streaming online videos non-stop.
YouTube Go App Facilitates the Offline Use of YouTube
YouTube Go app is all about watching its videos offline without get connected to Internet. User can spend more time on YouTube without depending on fast speed. This is a must try app and keep checking its availability on Play Store if not arrived on your country.
